Forza has been satisfying the need for speed with the annual releases of their racing sims. This time it’s Forza Horizon 3 and with the new region being twice as big as its predecessor, there’s no doubt the game will take up quite a chunk of storage.
Unlike Forza Motorsport 6, which was released both on the Xbox One and PC, the latest incarnation of Horizon will be part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program. The game will be released on both platforms and buying a digital copy for one means you will get the other free of charge.
According to Attack of the Fanboy, this new integration means that listings for games such as Forza Horizon 3 will be combined into a single page in the Microsoft website. The page gives details about both versions. But instead of specifying the download size for each, it now shows “approximate download size.”
Forza Horizon 3 Storage Requirements
The listing says that the approximate size for the game is between 46.34 GB – 60. This comes as no surprise as the game’s new location, Australia, is twice as large compared to Forza Horizon 2.
Add to that the new features incorporated to the game and over 350 customizable cars, 46.34 GB seem quite reasonable. Given the wide margin it can be assumed that one is for the Xbox One, while the other is for PC.
It could also mean that the lower number is the game’s size after installation and the higher number is after all the DLCs are included. Since the release of the game comes with three different versions, the approximate sizes might be based on the size of each.
Each version also comes with a free car with those included in the Standard version varying depending on where you purchased the game.Forza Horizon 3 will be released on September 27th on the Xbox and PC.
