Former regular cast of reality TV series “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” Kim Richards reportedly stole more than a hundred items valued at $612 from a retailer shop in San Fernando Valley, California, Los Angeles City Attorney told an entertainment magazine. Richards was apprehended on August 2.
On Monday, the fifty-year-old and former child actress was said to have been charged with, then arraigned for petty theft. She spent Sunday night after her arrest at the jail and was released on $5,000 bail the following day.
The New York-born actress pleaded not guilty on the charge and is scheduled to appear before the court on August 20. Sunday’s arrest came after her arrest in April at Beverly Hills Hotel for public intoxication, resisting arrest and battery. She reportedly engaged in a drunken altercation with the police during her April arrest. Richards was said to have entered several rehabilitation facilities after that incident.
‘Some Kind Of Mistake’
Monty Brinson, Richards’ former husband, was quoted by US Magazine, expressing shock after learning about her arrest.
“I couldn’t imagine Kim stealing or shoplifting anything. She is a giver,” Brinson said.
“I guaranteed this must be some kind of mistake,” he added.
Although particular shoplifted items were not disclosed, it was said that her cart was filled mostly with toys. In June, reports said Kim Richards will not reprise her role in “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
