Former “Home and Away” actor Martin Lynes, 48, has been charged with rape and assault of a woman in his home at New South Wales Central Coast.
BBC news reports that the actor was arrested on March 1 following the incident, which took place on February 29. An apprehended violence order is issued against him.
The woman, 51, is believed to have raised the alarm following the incident. Martin was arrested and subjected to nine offenses, the most serious involving sexual intercourse without consent and indecent assault. He is also accused of causing bodily harm to the lady. Common assault is part of the nine offenses. The lady was treated at Gosford Hospital.
Metro reports a policeman saying, “The altercation allegedly escalated, during which the man sexually and indecently assaulted the woman.” Mirror points out that Martin denies all allegations. He will be fighting against the charges. He is granted conditional bail for the moment. Martin is asked to face Wyong Local Court on April 27. However, he is asked to stay at least 100m away from the woman’s home.
The “Home and Away” actor, who is currently a real estate agent, has appeared on the hit TV soap back in 2014. He played Adam Sharpe in the series. Adam, the brother of Ricky, was a criminal. He also acted in “All Saints,” a local medical drama, as Luke Forlano.
His real estate biography says, “Marty is humble about his acting work but his communication skills and public speaking abilities have aided his rise in real estate.” Sydney Morning Herald has also pointed out that “Real estate is now Marty’s chosen career path.”
Lynes will be having a tough time facing the charges. The woman in question was not available to comment on the whole scenario.
