Fitbit Blaze Band Officially Goes On Sale

The smart fitness watch Fitbit Blaze, one of the leading fitness band, is now officially for sale. The said gadget was previously announced during the recently concluded CES 2016 which was held in Las Vegas.

The watch, which is being marketed by the company as a fitness focused device, is one of Fitbit’s latest products after more than a year of absence in the tech scene, reports Fortune. The device claims that it is not a direct competitor of Apple Watch. Despite this, some say that the wearable company should step up their game or forever be dominated by Apple’s smartwatches.

According to Bidness Etc, Blaze is a good looking fitness tracker that has several exciting features. It can be connected to either an iOS or an Android phone and helps the user keep tabs on his messages, calls and even his calendar events through the help of the smartwatch’s smart notification. It also brings regular health summaries to the owner.

Fitbit Blaze Band has a unique modular design that allows the user to remove and insert their trackers into a new frame. It has high resolution color touch screen and multiple clock faces. It is connected to interchangeable bands that are made from genuine leather, stainless steel and high performance elastomer. It has a long battery life which the company claims can last up to 5 days.

Aside from its cool physical look, the Fitbit Blaze Band also comes with a 3-axis accelerometer, a gyroscope and an optical heart rate monitor. It can store the user’s heart rate every second during exercise period and every five seconds when not on exercise mode. It can also track seven days of detailed motion data, adds MSPoweruser. The fitness watch comes with several features such as the FitStar personal trainer, Connected GPS, PurePulse, Multi-sport mode, SmartTrack automatic exercise recognition, Smart notifications, and automatic sleep tracker.

FitStar personal Trainer is where guided instructions and animated images of the most popular personal trainer workouts from FitStar are delivered onscreen. Meanwhile, with connected GPS, it helps the user by delivering real-time exercise stats to a smartphone’s GPS when connected. It syncs the data wirelessly to the Fitbit dashboard after exercise to help the user review his performance.

PurePulse is the heart rate tracking app that helps maximize any training routine with simplified heart rate zones that helps the wearer maintain their workout intensity and better track the calories that were burned during the activity. It also provides the user insights into his overall health.

Multi-sport mode enables the owner to record specific activities while providing relevant real-time performance stats to help maximize the user’s workouts. Meanwhile the SmarTrack automatically recognizes and records continuous movement activities with general categories for aerobics and sports.

The smart notifications, as mentioned earlier, deliver notifications to the users through on-screen messages or a vibrating alert. It is accepts and rejects calls directly from the smartwatch to the connected phone. The sleep tracker obviously tracks the user’s sleeping habits and even includes a silent alarm that gently vibrates to wake up the user.

Additionally, the Fitbit Blaze Band is compatible to more than 200 iOS, Android and Windows mobile devices. The water resistant watch is currently for sale on their website and on Amazon for $199.99 USD.
