Final Fantasy 15 has come a long way from its predecessors especially in terms its character designs. Square Enix has released new high definition photos of the characters, which definitely show that today’s technology was put to good use.
Art Director Yusuke Naora provided commentary for the designs regarding the thought process on deciding their looks. The high-resolution images capture every feature of the main characters all the way to the minute details.
Features such as skin texture, shading, and hair were all improved to make them more realistic. Small imperfections such as scars and blotches are also clearly defined.
Naora told IGN that when the project became Final Fantasy 15, they re-examined the level of reality that would be portrayed in the game world. With the new technology available, the photorealistic quality of the graphics made the game world an extension of reality.
The game is one of Square Enix’s major game releases this year, followed by Rise of the Tomb Raider. With these two, the publisher is set to rake in more dough following its second quarter income report.
