The sequel of “Fifty Shades of Grey” has been getting all the highlights for its explicit content. The upcoming sequel, “Fifty Shades Darker,” is rumored to have more explicit scenes between the two primary cast of the film, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson.
The duo was in the news for reportedly seeking $40 million each for the sequel. Now the plan has become hotter, with rumors of the movie getting an R-21 rating.
As reported, “Fifty Shades Darker” will highlight on the sexual obsession of business tycoon Christian Grey, played by Dornan. Since Anastasia has accepted Christian’s style, immense new possibilities open for the couple.
The report also mentions that the sequel will portray the sadistic side of Christian, just as it was revealed in the erotic trilogy of E.L. James. It is expected that some of the scenes will be more explicit for the audience, particularly for young adults.
Sam Taylor to “tone down” the obscene scenes?
According to Yibada, Sam Taylor-Johnson, director of the sequel, aims for an R-rating for “Fifty Shades Darker.” Due to that reason, some of the more explicit scenes were removed from the first installment.
But if “Fifty Shades Darker” includes more BDSM scenes as expected, it might get even an R-21 rating before hitting the silver screen in February 2017.
Just like the first of the trilogy, in which many sex scenes were removed intentionally to keep content digestible for a wider range of audience, the second installment will also exclude such scandalous content.
However, as far as the opinion of E.L. James goes, she expects the film to stay as close as possible to the original story. Toning down the scenes in order to make them more appropriate for the audience is the responsibility of the screenplay writers.
Reportedly, the role of Anastasia’s boss will not be played by Henry Cavill in the sequel. The report suggests that the Superman star has confirmed that he is not a part of the project.
