Lloyd led the U.S. Women’s national team to championship in the recently concluded FIFA World Cup in Canada.
In the finals against Japan, Lloyd had a memorable outing. She netted thrice in the first half and U.S. notched up a convincing 5-2 victory over Japan.

The life of of 33-year-old Carli Lloyd will be penned in the book she’s working on. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt will release the book in fall 2016.
A special edition for young readers is also planned.
The Houston Dash midfielder has already signed the book deal.
The publisher on Thursday announced the proposed book and clarified that special emphasis is given to Lloyd’s meteoric rise to stardom, the situation where she almost had to quit soccer in 2003, her mental and physical strength.
Lloyd says she looks forward to sharing her thoughts on a ”long journey, sometimes rewarding, sometimes challenging, but worth every moment,” according to a statement released through Houghton Mifflin.
Lloyd continues to dominate the soccer field as the World Cup and the Olympic Gold Medal winner netted 6 goals in seven World Cup games this summer, including the fabulous hat trick in the finals. She scored in every knockout games to guide the U.S. team to glory.
