Miley Cyrus is all set to host the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards on August 30. The host has been finalized by MTV. The news was confirmed by the 22-year-old singer-actress on Instagram.
“F–k yeah VMAs!!!!!” is what she posted on her Instagram profile with a pic dressed as an alien. She wrote “MTV WON’T LET ME PERFORM” on one side and “SO I’M HOSTING THIS YEAR’S VMA’S” on the other side of the picture. The picture shows her wearing a sandwich board, too.
Miley Cyrus as host of the MTV Video Music Awards will surely add some surprises. Last year, she was awarded “Video of the Year” for “Wrecking Ball.” Instead of going onstage to receive the award, she sent a homeless teenager named Jesse who went to raise awareness regarding homeless kids in Los Angeles.
Jesse said, “My name is Jesse and I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving, lost and scared for their lives right now. I know this because I am one of these people.”
Miley was seen in tears when Jesse told, “Los Angeles, entertainment capital, has the largest population of homeless youth in America. The music industry will make over $7 million this year and outside these doors are 54,000 human beings who have no place to call home.”
In 2013, she danced with Robin Thicke and a giant foam finger. The performance became infamous for obvious reasons. The popularity of the video almost broke the Internet.
Miley Cyrus started her music career at the age of 15 and she was nominated for the Best New Artist in the VMAs 2008. Her career has been fascinating since then. This time she has bagged the role of host, which is also going to be interesting.
