Bethesda’s “The Evil Within” was one of the most polarizing horror games released in 2014. Some enjoyed it, while some thought it was trying too hard. Despite the reception, hints have been thrown around, saying that a sequel may be released soon.
Pete Hines, Bethesda Softworks VP, sat down with Finder.com.au during the 21st annual QuakeCon event in Dallas, Texas. Hines talked about future titles that include, yes, The Evil Within.
When asked if the action-horror game sold well enough for a sequel, Hines immediately replied with a yes. However, he was a bit hesitant to talk more about it. “I can’t talk about the unannounced stuff and what we may or may not do. I get myself in trouble whenever I do that.”
Hines also mentioned, Rage, a first-person shooter published by Bethesda. According to the VP, both games deserve to have sequels. “Personally I loved Rage and had a tonne of fun playing it, but we have a lot of stuff in the pipeline right now so you will have to wait and see.”
The Evil Within tells the story of detective Sebastian Castellanos, as he finds himself in a terrifying world where he must run and fight to survive.
