Manchester United is set to go all-out to snatch Liverpool target-man Pedro Rodriguez, according to league sources. The deal of the Spanish international is worth 31 million Euro, not the 32.5 million fee the Reds are prepared to pay for Christian Benteke. United Manager Louis Van Gaal is determined to muscle rivals Liverpool out of the race in the hunt for Barcelona schemer Pedro Rodriguez.
“The Spanish international was thought to be a target for Brendan Rodgers who was keen to add to his attacking options following his pursuit of Christian Benteke,” reported the Red Devils.
“Pedro is believed to favour a move to Old Trafford – with Champions League football one offer Rodgers cannot match.”
Pedro was strongly linked to Liverpool for the past few weeks. But United pounced on him in its desperate bid to bolster their attacking third. Though officially United hasn’t spoken to Barca over Pedro issue. The club is now working on a deal with Pedro and will be slapping an official deal next week.
Though Barcelona coach Luis Enrique doesn’t want to let Pedro leave Nou Camp, there is popular consensus in Spain that the promising forward needs a first eleven football ahead of next year’s Euro Cup.
