A new name has hit the rumor market of English Premier League transfers: Mario Gotze of Bayern Munich, the German who scored the stunning win in the World Cup finals to drown Lionel Messi’s Argentina last summer.
The 23-year-old midfielder has recently revealed that he isn’t happy under Pep Guardiola at Munich and seeking a new challenge. Gotze is frustrated due to the lack of opportunity in the starting lineup.
“I think that playing abroad might be a good experience for me: new languages, new cultures. I might like it. Let’s see what the future holds,” said Gotze few days back.
And the express think Liverpool-Manager Brendan Rodgers has issued a red alert after the German’s comments.
Another Premiership giants, Manchester United have also shown keen interest about the German International.
But Bayern Manager Guardiola has stepped in to refute Gotze’s claims, and clarify that he won’t be going anywhere.
“Mario’s got a contract here, he’s my player and he’s a great player too,” Guardiola said. “In my mind, he is going to be a Bayern Munich player all season. He’s a top player, but I know that it’s not only the coach who decides here. It depends on the club.”
Champions League runner-up Juventus has also shown interest to plant Gotze to Italy.
