Liverpool is aggressively chasing Dortmund star Marco Reus as a replacement for England winger Raheem Sterling, who is headed towards Manchester City, according to reports.
Almost all of the £49 million Liverpool will receive from the Sterling deal could be used to fund a move for the Borussia Dortmund star. The Bundesliga giants could be forced to part with the forward if a better offer comes in, thus £46 million appears to fit the bill, though Reus has recently signed a contract at Westfalenstadion.
With significant fund entering their kitty the Reds can now lure the 26-year-old German forward.
Though an official bid is yet to be lodged, it is believed Brendan Rodgers will swoop as soon as the Sterling funds clear. Considered as one of the Dortmund’s most-valued asset, the German international was signed from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2012 for a reported £12 million.
Reus has notched up 53 goals from 119 matches and has featured for his country in 25 internationals.
