A drone accidentally cut Spanish pop star Enrique Iglesias’ hand, prompting him to receive treatment, during his performance in a concert on Saturday.
Iglesias was performing at Plaza de Toros de Playa in Tijuana, Mexico, in front of an impressive turnout of 12,000 fans as part of his Sex and Love world tour. During his performance, a drone used to capture photographs hovered near him. He grabbed the device which caused injury to some of his fingers.
However, he continued to performance with his fingers sliced and bleeding.
According to E! News, Iglesias’ representative Joe Bonilla said, “Last night, Enrique had a show at a bullfight ring in Tijuana, Mexico for 12k+ people as part of his Sex and Love world tour. During the show, a drone is used to get crowd shots and some nights, Enrique grabs the drone to give the audience a Point of View shot. Something went wrong and he had an accident.”
“He was semi-treated by crew on the side of the stage to try and stop the bleeding. He was advised to stop the show. He decided to go on and continued playing for 30 minutes while the bleeding continued throughout the show.”
Pictures posted on social media show that he smeared the blood on his t-shirt in the shape of a heart.

Adile Flores, one of the attendees, witnessed the incident and said that the pop star continued with his performance despite bleeding heavily, as reported by CNN. He then raised his hands to show the fans that he had been bleeding, following which he left the stage and returned after 10 minutes with his hands bandaged.
Although he was advised to end the show, he performed for another 30 minutes, according to The Guardian.
In the statement, Bonilla said, “He was rushed to the airport where an ambulance met him there. He was then put on a plane to LA to see a specialist.”
His fans were impressed at how he didn’t let his injury substantially impact his performance.
A fan posted on the Enrique Iglesias Tijuana fan club Facebook page, “I admire his professionalism, his great energy, always doing his 100 percent to satisfy his fans. It is really admirable and that is why he is the best. I hope is doing well.”
Another fan posted, “He is beautiful and the best. He gave his 1000 although he was bleeding and bleeding. Those of us who were at the front of the stage with security guards were covered with blood.”
Iglesias’ next show is scheduled for July in Mexico City, his official website says.
