England led 7-3 over Pakistan in head-to-head encounters in T20. Pakistan gained an opportunity to improve the record on Thursday as the two teams clashed in Dubai for the first T20 International of the three-match series. England has featured in only four T20 Internationals, winning three of them since losing to Netherlands in the final game of the 2014 T20 World Cup .
This series provides Pakistan a chance to bounce back after a poor one-day series. Pakistan has featured in 92 T20 internationals, the most by any team in that format of the game. Pakistan are ahead in experience as four of its players have notched up more than 1,000 T20 runs. Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Umar Akmal and Shahid Afridi feature in the club.
Akmal was cleared by the PCB for wrongdoings, and 39-year-old Rafatullah Mohmand will be making his debut at the top. James Vince could make his debut for England.
The Dubai International Stadium is conducive for good batting.
But England suffer early jitters after winning the toss and electing to bat.
