Rumors have it that rapper Eminem postponed his 9th album this 2016 to give time for his new business venture.
It looks like the 43-year-old rapper is focusing on a new venture as he opened his business StockX, an online consumer stock market for in demand and limited edition products.
This is amidst reports that he is currently working on his 9th album set to be released this year. The Detroit native also added that one thing that he liked about the world’s first ever online consumer stock market was that it also features sneakers. The partnership also involves Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg.
“Sneakers have always been a huge interest of mine, for at least as long as I’ve been rapping, and I’m proud of the fact that I’ve had so many collaborations with Nike and Jordan Brand,” Eminem said, as reported by Headlines and Global News.
“When I found out that they happen to be doing it from downtown Detroit, it made even more sense to get involved, “Eminem added, whose real name is Marshall Mathers.
In their press release, StockX said that it aims to target the sneakers resale market, which Eminem has been a part of.
“The company has targeted the sneaker resale market as its first vertical, and the partnership will continue to accelerate StockX’s growth by building on the rappers’ long and personal passion for sneakers to create exclusive content and access to rare sneakers from Mathers’ personal collection,” it read.
“I don’t know why people have suggested I name my next album Empower or Empart,” he said. “This has been said to me so many times over the years. If I were to name an album with such a stupid play on my name it obviously should be called Empanada.”
