Kate Middleton is reportedly starstruck with larger than life Hollywood celebrities. And now, she may just have the chance to call one, her own kin – Ellen DeGeneres.
The 58-year-old Ellen is a television presenter and hosts the popular talk show “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” The stand-up comedienne wants to meet and “hang out” with her royal cousin, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, Daily Mail reports.
“Everyone thinks I’m joking, but I’m not. So, if we’re related, we should start hanging out together,” said Ellen, who is the 15th cousin to Kate through their common ancestor Sir Thomas Fairfax. The talk show host now wants to know more about the princess. A few years ago, Ellen revealed that she and Kate Middleton were cousins.
But, unfortunately, the two have not yet met. Ellen, who is the voice of Pixar character Dory, is married to Portia de Rossi. She hoped that one day Kate would meet her in Los Angeles and they would discuss among other things their family’s history and also personal lives, Hello reports.
While Ellen does not want to have kids with her wife Portia, she is excited to meet Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The comedienne has a great way with kids, which is evident from her “The Ellen Show” when she interviews kids.
She said when she saw pictures of little George in a robe with U.S. president Barack Obama in Kensington Palace, she wanted to dress the tot in her clothing line, “ED by Ellen.” Ellen also wanted to make a custom robe for the royal tot. But, she was at a loss as to why Kate or William did not get in touch with her all these years.
Whatever Prince George wears, sells out within sometime. Such is “The George Effect” that whenever the two-year-old is seen in any new outfits, parents all over the world are keen to replicate his style for their own little sons. ED is a lifestyle brand inspired by the iconic style, values and personality of Ellen DeGeneres.
The talk show host’s eponymous label only caters to women. The collection includes women’s apparel, accessories and decorative home. So in order to cater to little George and baby Charlotte she has to start designing for kids as well.
And who knows, if the royal kids wear her designs, it may give rise to “The George Effect” and “The Charlotte Effect.” Besides, if the stylish Kate chooses to wear her cousin’s design, it is likely to give a huge boost to ED, as whatever Kate touches becomes gold, thanks to “The Kate Effect.”
Meanwhile Kate and William were seen on an engagement with little George earlier in July.
