The famous professional skateboarder, Dylan Rieder, passed away on Wednesday evening due to leukemia.
Rieder has influenced a whole lot of skateboarders throughout a generation with his graceful and effortless style, his unforgettable video appearances and through his strength.
According to Heavy, it was Dante Ross’, A&R producer, who tweeted the 28 year old’s death, “Rest in Power Dylan Rieder gone way too soon a style master and really nice person. My deepest condolences to his close friends and family,” the tweet read.
“It’s hard to believe even typing this—we lost one of the best to ever step on a skateboard today. Dylan Rieder, whose flawless style, explosive power, and epic video parts influenced an entire generation and beyond, passed away today. Rest in peace, Dylan. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family in this unbelievably difficult time,” posted TransWorld SKATEboarding, a site which covers news and updates on skateboarding.
The Ride Channel reports that the press release they have obtained says that Rieder had died due to complications from leukemia. The social media has been flocked up by the skateboard community members who have expressed their condolences.
The 28-year-old, Dylan Rieder was a model and a professional skateboarder. Joe Rieder and Dana Webb, are his parents. He was born in Westminster, CA. Makenna is Dylan’s younger sister.
Rieder started skating at nine, and by 18, for Alien Workshop, he became a professional. His sponsors were Quicksilver and Birdhouse. For DKNY’s 2014 Spring Ad Campaign, he modelled with Jourdan Dunn and Cara Delevigne.
According to Daily Mail, Dylan’s family has asked for donations to be made at the City of Hope Cancer Treatment Center, in memory of Dylan to Dr. Stephen.
