The idea of Dwyane Wade and LeBron James reuniting in Cleveland is slowly becoming a reality. Wade might pull off a Kevin Durant this offseason, as league sources say the Miami Heat superstar has agreed meeting with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The basketball world was shell-shocked Monday when Kevin Durant announced he was leaving Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder to join the Golden State Warriors. When the 2016-17 NBA regular season starts, Durant might not be the only high-profile player wearing a new uniform.
Three tweets emerged Monday which hinted that Dwyane Wade is leaning towards joining the reigning defending NBA champions.
The first tweet was from Incarcerated Bob IBN. The sports gossipers claimed that Wade has already booked a meeting with the Cavaliers’ top brass.
The second tweet was from private jet service Luxury Jets Group. The company told Wade, LeBron and Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert to “enjoy” their Fourth of July celebration.
The third and most telling tweet came from Wade himself. In one of his recent Twitter post, the three-time NBA champion said, “Relationships are important people!”
If anything, Wade’s cryptic message has only fueled the Cavaliers rumors even more. He might eventually team up with LeBron and Kyrie to try and win as many championships as his 34-year-old knees would allow.
According to FanSided, Wade should sign with the Cavaliers if he really wants to savor his last few seasons in the league. In Cleveland, he would likely compete for titles every year. He would also be surrounded by a plethora of playmakers who would set him up for open shots.
If it is true that relationships are that important to him, he would have no problem making the sacrifice to play alongside his best friend. It doesn’t hurt at all that Wade’s best friend is arguably the best basketball player in the world.
