After recent allegations of Josh Duggar molesting underage girls when he was still a teenager had surfaced, one of the Duggars’ pastors spoke about forgiveness.
Dr. Ronnie Floyd, a 59-year-old pastor from the Pinnacle Cross Church in Rogers, Arkansas, told People, “Everyone does wrong, and what was wrong was very wrong as to what was testified to and it’s completely unacceptable.”
While admitting the tendency of man to commit mistakes, he then added, “But I’m thankful, whether it’s him or any other one, that I serve a God who can forgive everything.”
On Sunday, Floyd extended his definition of “sin” to transgender Caitlyn Jenner, once known as Bruce Jenner, the Olympic gold medalist whose recent cover of Vanity Fair sparked mixed reactions among people.
In a sermon he gave on Sunday, Floyd spoke about gender and sin.
“You dads, make sure you raise your sons around men who are manly.”
“What’s remarkable about this is the world is applauding,” added Floyd. “Gender is not fluid.”
He further said Jenner is no different compared to everyone, and that everyone is a sinner.
Jenner’s recent Vanity Fair cover earned a healthy amount of praises from people. A few were quick to criticize the situation. Writing for The Blaze, Matt Walsh, who says he is a “professional truth sayer,” wrote, “That picture was literally the definition of inauthentic. If it wasn’t inauthentic, then nothing is.”
