Drake has recently purchased his neighbouring mansion in Calabasas, California, for $2.85 million. Is the 4,445-square-foot property with four bedrooms, five bathrooms, multiple fireplaces and top-of-the-line gourmet kitchen for his rumoured lady love Rihanna?
However, fans are speculating that his new lavish purchase is inspired by his own lyrics from the track ‘Where Ya At’ from the 2015 album ‘Future’ in which Drizzy rapped “I’ll buy the neighbours’ house if they complain about the noise.”
According to the real estate website Trulia, Drake’s new mansion has “an open floor plan, hardwood floors, and high ceilings are the ultimate example of California cool, while multiple fireplaces and a top-of-the-line gourmet kitchen make this the type of home friends will want to hang out in.”
In 2012, the rapper purchased his house next door for $7.7 million. The recent purchase came at a time when rumours around his alleged dating relationship with Rihanna is ripe. Speculations soared after Drizzy’s admission that he loved RiRi since he was 22 at the MTV VMAs after presenting her the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
“The first time I met Robyn Fenty [Rihanna] was in 2005. The song was ‘Pon de Replay’ and the director of the video was Little X,” he said at the MTV VMAs, as quoted by the International Business Times. “I was introduced to her as the kid who played background music at the restaurant as people ate at their dinner. It’s hard to believe that 11 years later all three of us would come together to create the visual for a song called ‘Work.’”
According to a source, Drake is so much in love with Rihanna that if it was up to him, he would marry her tomorrow. “Things are different this time between them for the better. They want to make this work this time with each other,” the E! News quoted the source as saying.
The buy comes after a robbery was reported at Drake’s tour bus, from where a man made off with jewellery worth $3 million, according to a report from Hollywood Life.
