Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has been called many things during the past few months with racist, Islamophobe, and sexist among them. But is there any proof of him being one of the above?
According to some of his former employees, there have been instances in which Trump displayed blatant sexism. This allegedly happened in one golf club he owned in Rancho Palos Verdes. According to a former staff, he wanted to fire women who were less attractive than the others.
According to the LA Times, whenever Trump visited the club, its managers scheduled the young, thin, pretty women on staff to work the clubhouse restaurant. Court records reveal that the reason behind this decision was due to the owner’s “preferences.” When the real estate mogul saw women who were not pretty enough working at his club, he wanted to fire them.
In a sworn statement, Hayley Strozier revealed that she had witnessed Donald Trump talk to managers multiple times during his visits. He would tell them that restaurant hostesses were ‘not pretty enough’ and that they should be fired and replaced with more attractive women.
Donald Trump Wanted To Fire Female Employees Because They Were Less Attractive?
Strozier, who was the club’s director of catering until 2008, also revealed that Trump gave this order “almost every time.” This eventually led managers to put the prettiest staff on schedule every time he would visit the club.
A similar story was told by another employee in court documents filed back in 2012. However both allegations were deemed “meritless” by a Trump Organization attorney. Their lawyer stated that such discriminatory acts were in violation of company policy.
The employees argued however that the preference for attractive women in the workplace came directly from the top. Sue Kwiatkowski, the club’s restaurant manager until 2009 said that Trump always wanted good looking women working at the club.
These allegations of sexism in the Trump Organization resurfaced after Trump made comments regarding former Miss Universe Alicia Machado. During the first 2016 presidential debate, Hillary Clinton slammed her opponent for sexism using Miss Machado as an example.
This raises the question if Donald Trump is actually the type of person he claims he is time and time again. Is he really the candidate his supporters believe him to be? Let us know in the comments.
