The team behind the upcoming American superhero film “Doctor Strange” made fans excited with a new set of photos. English actor and film producer Benedict Cumberbatch (as the titular Sorcerer Supreme) and Chiwetel Ejiofor were spotted on set.
The New York film scene of “Doctor Strange” shared a sneak peek of Mads Mikkelsen’s seriously radical cosmetic effects. Although the character of the Danish actor is not disclosed, rumors say Mikkelsen will be playing Dormammu, Doctor Strange’s villain.
Cumberbatch went to his Twitter account appreciating Mikkelsen’s makeup. “Omg Mads! This looks amazing!” According to Screen Rush, “Dormammu, the Marvel villain has a specified beginning as one of the Faltine, a species of beings in another dimension who subsist on energy — but unlike his brethren, Dormammu hungered for matter, and was ultimately banished from his dimension along with his sister.”
Aside from Cumberbatch, “Doctor Strange” has also cast Anglo-Scottish actress and performance artist Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One, and Benedict Wong will portray the humble servant of Doctor Strange.
“Doctor Strange” is penned by Jon Spaihts and directed by Scott Derrickson, whose works included “Sinister” and “Deliver Us from Evil.”
The movie’s synopsis goes, “Doctor Strange tells the story of Stephen Strange played by Cumberbatch, an acclaimed neurosurgeon who uncovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions after a near-fatal car accident, showing audiences corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe never before explored,” as presented by Coming Soon.
“Doctor Strange” is slated to be released on November 4, 2016.
