Doctor Strange: Benedict Cumberbatch Costume on SDCC Stage, Free Comic Book & More

On Thursday fans got a glimpse at Marvel’s panel as the studio was setting up its promo materials for Doctor Strange. Recently, the publishers posted a picture of their complete set from SDCC.

The costume of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, Mordo and the Ancient One were put upon mannequins on the stage. The movie’s official Facebook page also went live, giving us a closer look at its details and the stitching on them. Check the video below.

There have been speculations that Marvel will be screening a new Doctor Strange trailer. But the studio hasn’t listed the movie as part of their upcoming MCU announcements.

Earlier during Luke Cage’s panel, the studio made a surprising announcement on the renewal of Daredevil TV series for season 3. So, it’s likely that Doctor Strange is also part of their surprise reveal.

By far, fans have come across stills of Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange and Mads Mikkelsen’s Kaecilius. Since then, the studio has been low profile with plot and character details. But earlier this month, Entertainment Weekly got their hands on Doctor Strange’s exclusive poster for Comic-con. It is a production concept art by Ryan Meinerding.

Marvel Entertainment has also been giving out free copies of Doctor Strange #1 at their booth for SDCC attendees.  The book will be Philips Norelco variant according to the tweet.

In other news, fans expecting upcoming MCU announcements can get geared up for Saturday. According to Marvel’s SDCC schedule, The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 cast will be part of their panel at 4:15 PM. Attendees would have to arrive there earlier as the signing will take place at 3:45 PM.

Directed by Scott Derrickson, Doctor Strange movie will be releasing on November 4 this year. Starring beside Benedict Cumberbatch are Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mads Mikkelsen and Scott Adkins.
