Demi Lovato Gives Emotional SNL Performance Of ‘Cool for the Summer,’ ‘Confident,’ ‘Stone Cold’

Demi Lovato sang “Stone Cold,” one the seven songs she co-wrote for her new album Confident.

“Saturday Night Live” last weekend was filled with pleasant surprises such as Tracy Morgan‘s appearance and Larry David’s hilarious and convincing impersonation of Bernie Sanders. But what stood out that night were Demi Lovato’s emotional performances.

The female singer sang “Stone Cold,” one of the seven songs she co-wrote for her new album Confident. When asked by Vanity Fair about the reaction to the performance, she described it as incredible. Furthermore, she said, “I’m just honored I was able to convey the emotion of the song.”

Lovato also sang a mash-up of “Cool for the Summer” and “Confident.” All performances showcased how far the artist has reached in terms of vocal prowess and stage presence. “Stone Cold,” meanwhile, was sang with only a piano as accompaniment, making the performance as intimate as possible.

During the show’s afterparty in Heartland Brewery in New York, model Gigi Hadid and his boyfriend Joe Jonas appeared to show support for Lovato. This, considering the fact that Joe and Demi dated in 2010, but this isn’t an issue for Hadid at all, as what the media observed. Tracy Morgan and Nick Jonas were also spotted in the party.

During the first week of October, Vanity Fair photographer Patrick Ecclesine worked with Demi Lovato for a photoshoot that features the once-Disney star nude and without makeup. “What if we do a photo shoot where it’s totally raw?” Lovato was quoted as saying. “Super-sexy, but no makeup, no fancy lighting, no retouching, and no clothing. Let’s do it here, let’s do it now”
