The superhero film “Deadpool” is a success as it plowed through all sorts of box office records, and while studios behind motion pictures may or may not learn the right lesson from its success, one thing is for sure: the film will have sequels.
As stated by Screen Rant, 39-year-old Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds has already squeezed out his desire to see the eventual team outing that earned an R-rating. According to the Collider, American screenwriter and film producer Simon Kinberg is also on board with the issue, stating that there is a real possibility of an R-rated X-Force.
Deadpool producer Kinberg stated at a Q&A following a preview screening of Deadpool film, “I think there are some stories that could be R-rated. I don’t know what they are, I mean I think the mainline X-Men movies have their own tone, which is a more operatic tone. It’s more dramatic, it is more PG-13 in a way. X-Force I could see being R-rated, and who knows?”
American comic book creator Rob Liefeld immediately pointed out that Kinberg’s last statement would become a topic online, and the producer made it clear that he did not say X-Force will be Rated R, but the film could be.
Simon Kinberg said, “I’m saying I could imagine a universe in which X-Force is R-rated.”
However, IB Times reports that Kinberg is familiar with the 20th Century Fox and Marvel Comics films, as he has worked on several X-Men flicks such as “The Last Stand,” “Days Of Future Past” and the upcoming “Apocalypse.”
Kinberg would be credible enough as to what will work within the genre of the film. No words were out yet regarding the date for the X-Force movie.
