In a new promo, Deadpool had a message for Australia.
“Seriously, I’d fit right in with your proud nation with its shady criminal past and its predilection for blackout drinking and unrelenting condescension toward New Zealand,” Deadpool says in the message marking the Australia Day on January 26.
Deadpool, starring Ryan Reynolds in the title role, chronicles the life of Wade Wilson who is subjected to a cancer treatment; as a result of which, he acquires special powers. Deadpool will follow the witty and foul-mouthed character in pursuit of the people who made him undergo the treatment. As a highly anticipated movie many fans and moviegoers are eagerly looking forward to, Deadpool is expected to open to a $55 million-plus debut, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
The promo also features Reynolds mentioning Hugh Jackman, with whom he appeared as the superhero for the first time in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. “I’ve got no problems with Hugh,” Deadpool says. “I mean, he’s a delightful guy, he really is; a true legend. But the movie, that was a career low for me. You understand.”
Deadpool opens in North America on February 12 this year; and, in addition to Reynolds, also stars Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T. J. Miller and Gina Carano. Comedies Zoolander 2 and How to be Single also hit cinemas alongside Deadpool.
