David Beckham has had women screaming out his name since the richest soccer player earned the spotlight not only for his skills in the sport, but for his undeniably attractive physique and handsome face.
The global superstar, despite his older age, earned the “Sexiest Man Alive” trophy for People Magazine’s 30th anniversary cover issue.
As reported by CNN Edition, David Beckham, a devoted father of four, loyal husband to Spice Girl’s Victoria Beckham, and a retired yet successful soccer player, did not anticipate the recognition he received for People Magazine’s 30th anniversary issue. Several fans of People Magazine had been anticipating the cover issue for this year’s 30th anniversary. Alas, Beckham reigned supreme as he landed the title “Sexiest Man Alive” for the cover of the issue.
During an interview, Beckham stated, “It’s the best moment of my career. I can’t believe it.” He added, “I never felt that I’m an attractive, sexy person.”
According to People, Beckham had been a sex symbol for nearly two decades. In fact, Beckham’s wife, Victoria, was supportive of her husband’s achievement. When asked about her reaction, Beckham said, “I would hope that she feels this way about me all the time anyway! But she said, ‘Congratulations!’” He added, “We kind of laughed about it with the boys and the boys kind of laughed at me and said, ‘Really?! Sexiest man alive? Really?’”
The British heartthrob also appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last Tuesday. When asked as to how Matt Damon wasn’t able to get his title and what he would comment about that, he stated, “Well, maybe next year!”
People Magazine’s 30th anniversary issue entitled “People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2015: 30 Years of Sexy” featuring David Beckham as the brand’s flagship will air on Lifetime Television Network. The issue, on the other hand, will be on newsstands this coming Friday.
