A new partnership is attempting to become the next successful team up in the tech world. The ones attempting to do so is Chinese tech company Cubot and popular app maker Cheetah Mobile. Apparently the two companies are launching a new phone soon, that they hope will be the next “it” thing in town.
Although the details about the phone haven’t been officially published yet, GizChina has published what it calls are the final specs of the upcoming phone. It also said that the details itself are given to them by Cubot. The collaborated phone of metal will be having a 5.5-inch display with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution with a 400ppi.
Digital Trends reports that the rumored phone supposedly will be having a dimension of 149 x 74.9 x 7.95mm and will be called the Cubot Cheetah (kind of weird and futuristic sounding!). Cubot and Cheetah Mobile’s offering will be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow in an octa core MediaTek processor.
The OS is speculated to be coupled with the CM launcher, Cheetah Mobile’s own Android launcher instead of the usual Google launcher. It is said to have some fancy alterations and customization compared to the original specs.
Additionally, Cubot Cheetah is reportedly having a 3GB RAM and an internal storage of 32GB which is expandable via an SD card. It will be powered by a built-in 3050mAh battery and has a rear touch fingerprint scanner.
The dual-SIM mobile phone is said to be also sporting a 13 megapixel rear shooter and an 8 megapixel front shooter. The handset is said to be coming in four color variants which are black, pink, silver, and gold. Although the phone is rumored to be going on sale next month, the pricing has not been released and confirmed yet.
There is a possibility that other details regarding Cubot Cheetah will be out by the Mobile World Congress 2016 event where Cubot is confirmed to be attending to showcase its latest offering. Some are already speculating that it is the same phone being discussed here. But really people can only guess at this time and wait for the congress to happen.
