The Los Angeles Clippers were without All-star Blake Griffin in the last four games of their five game road-trip. They finished off their road trip with a 95-89 win over the New Orleans Pelicans in the New Years Eve.
Ryan Anderson led the Pelicans to a 13-2 run and they tied earlier in the second half. The Clippers then dominated, snatched the driver’s seat and registered the highest lead of the game in the third quarter, 76-65.
Blake Griffin was ruled out with a quad injury. DeAndre Jordan led with 11 points, 20 rebounds and three blocks. The Clippers forced 16 turnovers and scored 24 points from it. But in an evenly contested tie, the Pelicans came back led by Tyreke Evans.
After tying, the Pelicans grabbed their first lead in the second half. J.J. Redick posted 26 points for the second straight game, and the Clippers led by a narrow margin 50-48 in the half-time shooting 37.5 percent. The Pelicans dominated the first quarter, and a Paul Pierce 3 pointer concluded a 21-12 run for the Clippers in the second quarter as they took the lead for the first time.
