Eastern Conference rivals Cleveland Cavaliers and the Chicago Bulls will face off in a 2016 NBA preseason match on Friday night at the United Center. Here is a quick look at how the two teams are performing heading into the 2016-17 NBA season.
The Cavaliers had a strong start in the 2016 NBA preseason but struggled in their last two matches. It is worth noting, though, that Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue has not used his main rotation in all four matches.
Cleveland Cavaliers Preseason Form
The defending champions kicked off their preseason campaign with an emphatic 117-102 win over the Orlando Magic. It was followed by a hard-earned 108-105 win over the Philadelphia 76ers, where reserve guard Jordan McRae exploded for 20 points, Cavs.com indicated.
However, the Cavaliers took a 99-93 loss against conference rival Atlanta Hawks and absorbed a 119-94 beating from the Toronto Raptors. But against the Bulls, Cavaliers fans might see a lot of their resident stars LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, knowing that the game will be a good test for the team.
Chicago Bulls Preseason Form
The Bulls are still searching for an identity, following the departure of both Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah to the New York Knicks. Bulls fans had a good glimpse at their new-look squad in their 93-91 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in their preseason opener, where Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo made their debut for Chicago.
The Bulls then took a 115-108 loss to the Indiana Pacers before getting back at their rivals via a 121-105 victory on Saturday. In their win, Wade showed that he still has a lot of gas left in his tank, as he finished with the 22 points and eight rebounds, as posted on Bulls.com.
