Civil War II To Debut Ahead Of ‘Captain America: Civil War’

Marvel Comics announced that it will debut Civil War II a month before Captain America: Civil War hits theaters in May next year.

Civil War II will debut a month prior to the release of the film, “Captain America: Civil War.”

The announcement that the series is underway was made by Marvel Comics. Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez, currently serving as the creative team on Invincible Iron Man, will be the creative duo.

While it is not clear whether Civil War II will be an independent series or a part of the Marvel comic books, the fact that the creative duo are currently working on the Invincible Iron Man series suggests that the story will be revealed in that title, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The news was revealed in a postcard from Marvel that features the two superheroes battling one another in a style similar to that of the cover of the original Civil War series, according to ComicBook.com.

Civil War II will be launched in April next year, a month before the highly anticipated May release of “Captain America: Civil War,” which also features Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie. Recently, the first “Captain America: Civil War” trailer became the most watched trailer on YouTube.
