The 22-year-old YouTube star and former The Voice contestant died in Orlando after she was shot in the head by a deranged fan named Kevin Loibl. Some reports said that her death was due to her Christian faith.
“It is difficult to find motive in the insane ravings of a madman like Kevin James Loibl,” a Santa Monica Observer report said. “But it has become increasingly apparent to police from an examination of Loibl’s cell phone and computer records, that singer Christina Grimmie was murdered because of her outspoken Christian faith.”
Investigators are also eyeing that Christina Grimmie’s death was a hate crime as he has posted “insane rantings” over his social media accounts and emails, which was removed for his account.

Feelings of outrage over the crime intensified after a witness relayed that the singer was shot after she openly welcomed the deranged killer to her arms.
According to witness Destiny Rivera, 20, she was behind the killer while they were in the line waiting for their turn to have Christina Grimmie’s autograph.
She said that the singer was in the merchandise table near the sound desk while she was talking to her fans and having her picture taken with them, Independent UK said in a report.
The witness added that upon the guy’s turn to greet Christina, the singer had her arms open for a hug but the she was greeted with a three shots of gun.
“The one guy in front of us was walking up to meet her. Her arms were open, waiting to greet him with a hug,” she said. “Then there was a sound of three pops, like balloons. People had brought balloons to the show and the security guards were popping them so at first I thought it was that.”
