Competition on season 10 of “The Voice” is heating up, both onstage and behind the cameras. Allegedly, there is conflict between American singer-songwriter Christina Aguilera and former No Doubt lead singer Gwen Stefani.
Aguilera has been always the Queen of the American reality singing contest “The Voice” because she was the only woman on the show. When she needed to take a break for some seasons after welcoming her daughter Summer Rain with her fiance Matt Rutler in August 2014, Stefani took over (Season 7 and 9). Allegedly, Stefani was able to win over Aguilera’s fans and the “Genie in a Bottle” hitmaker is furious.
Moreover, the “Lady Marmalade” singer allegedly cannot take the romance brewing between Stefani and another “The Voice” judge, Blake Shelton. She’s furious that Stefani is still part of the show even though she already returned. Stefani may not be a judge, but an advisor still receives some hefty bonus. Celeb Dirty Laundry reported that Aguilera is pissed because of this.
According to the gossip site, the “Come On Over” singer is furious over the fat paychecks that Stefani is receiving when it fact she is “untalented.” The judge allegedly believes all Stefani does in the show is make out with Shelton on camera when they film live episodes of the singing competition.
To add fuel to the fire, there are rumors that the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) is offering Gwen and Blake a huge pay bump if they get engaged in the TV series. Because of this, Aguilera has a strong hunch Stefani is just using her relationship with Blake to stay relevant on “The Voice” and receive huge sums of money.
However, Entertainment Tonight reports that Shelton already clarified why Stefani remained part of the show even though Aguilera returned. Shelton said he believes in his girlfriend’s capacity to make his team win. “I brought Gwen in because if there’s anybody who understands what a battle round is, it’s somebody who’s been a coach.”
“Stefani knows what it takes to win this thing,” he said.
