Injury-prone Derrick Rose missed the last game for the Chicago Bulls due to general soreness. Rose is set to return for Wednesday night’s crunch game against the Atlanta Hawks.

The Bulls are playing without their new perennial All-Star Jimmy Butler, who has has been ruled out for three to four weeks with a strained left knee. Butler is Bulls’ leading scorer and the best defender this season. Pau Gasol will be replacing him in the All-Star game. The Spaniard has cancelled a holiday trip after Adam Silver announced his name for the game.
Coach Fred Hoiberg said that Nikola Mirotic has lost 15 pounds due to complications from his appendectomy and is “still in a lot of pain,” as reported by the Chicago Tribune.
Rose has played 44 games this season for the Bulls, averaging 15.9 points and 4.8 assists. He shot 40.8 percent from the field. He has gelled with Jimmy Butler to form the most formidable backcourt pair of the league.
The Bulls lost three in a row to drop to 27-24 and are currently in the seventh position in the Eastern Conference, according to CBS Local.
