Awaiting the Android Smart Outdoor Watch from Casio? The wait is almost over as it was just announced by the company that the Casio Outdoor Watch WSD-F10 is going to be available for purchase starting March 25, Friday. That’s three days from now! But before the appointed date let’s check out what you would expect from the latest rugged smartwatch.
According to Digital Trends, the timepiece comes with a dimension of 61.7 x 56.4 x 15.7mm and a bit similar to Moto 360. The Android powered watch is also specially designed for those who love the outdoors. So if you are looking for a sophisticated look, this is not for you. The WSD-F10 watch comes has a 1.3-inch screen with a 320 x 320 pixel dual layer LCD display. It was designed so that it could be readable even when the sun is bright and you are out satiating your wanderlust.
It comes with a fairly chunky case, which is military tested to withstand shocks, vibrations and other disturbances that could come while you are out trekking in the wilderness. It is also water resistant of up to 50 meters, reports Ars Technica.
Gadgets 360 adds that during the global launch last January in Las Vegas, the Japanese tech company claimed that the users could use the rugged watch in the rain and around water. It has also been tested with the US military standard MIL-STD-810 issued by the US Department of Defence.
The watch which, The Verge has commended for its clear sense of purpos,e has a number of specialized watch faces which Casio calls as “tools.” These tools give users easy access to information like altitude, sunrise and sunset times, air pressure, tides and compass directions.
The Casio Outdoor Watch WSD-F10 also has physical buttons so it can be used even while wearing gloves, which some or most of the smartwatch won’t let you do. The rugged watch also comes pre-loaded with several on-theme apps like RunKeeper, ViewRanger and MyRadar.
Meanwhile, on its press release at PR Newswire, it is also said that there are also apps that the user can just tap to use like email alert, maps, weather, voice search and a lot more apps that will help the user stay connected while on a rendezvous with mother nature.
Casio’s experience in the industry of timepieces is reflected in this upcoming WSD-F10 ease of use as an everyday watch. Aside from having large buttons, it is also designed to have a slip-free finish. The wristband is also made from soft urethane to ensure that it conforms to the wrist of the user which in turn feels comfortable even if worn for a long period of time.
Casio’s latest watch can be purchased online from Amazon, Google Store, REI and ShopCasio for $500 USD. There are four colors available to choose from which are red, black, green and orange.
