Will Carmelo Anthony request for trade from the New York Knicks? Find out in this NBA news report.
On asked Anthony said “hell no.” Anthony also pointed out that he was bought according to Phil Jackson’s vision of re-building the New York Knicks.
Anthony possesses the power to veto on any proposed deal, as there isn’t any trade-clause in his deal.
On Monday, Anthony expressed frustrations on reports that he wasn’t happy with the drafting of Kristaps Porzingis and would consider to waive the no-trade clause from his contract.
“For me to get to that point and decide this is not what it’s going to be — I already came this far,” Anthony said after Monday’s practice. “That doesn’t even come across my mind at this point.”
Porzingis is the No 4 draft pick of the New York Knicks in this NBA draft from Latvia. The reason behind Melo’s displeasure was the reports linking to him regarding the trade which he never said.
“There’s a long list,” Anthony said. “The draft pick was one. Me waiving my trade clause is two. Me not wanting to be here is three. Just every day it was another team that I was going to be traded to. I was in everybody’s trade this offseason, so after a while, at first it’s like OK, I know it’s not true, it’s stupid. Then, after a while, it gets old.
“Fans are asking, you’ve got to deal with that everywhere you go. So things like that start to get overwhelming at times.”
