Captain America is having a boyfriend, how is that? What if he already has one, or even two?
Following the call to #GiveElsaAGirlfriend started by 17-year-old Alexis Isabel Moncada, the Twitter world is now trying to put some twist into the plot of future “Captain America” movies.
According to Independent UK, some fans started the campaign on Tuesday saying that if Disney would allow the ice queen to finally “let it go,” there is nothing wrong for Marvel to let Steve Rodgers have a boyfriend via the hashtag #GivCaptainAmericaABoyfriend.
“#GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend because in what world is dating your dead girlfriends niece more acceptable than dating a guy?” Eilish (@thirlwallvanlis) wrote referencing to the fact that Captain America eventually dated Sharon Carter in “Civil War” after her aunt, Peggy Carter, died in “The First Avenger.”
What was even more interesting about the call was the cleverness of several fans, which manifested when they claimed that the superhero played by Chris Evans actually has a beau already in the person of Bucky Barnes.
“#GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend because after three movies about Steve and Bucky’s relationship, it would come naturally,” Twitter user #GiveCapABoyfriend (@buckypaI) said.
This was supported by another fan, Buckaroo (@Pinkcess_Ash), who sounded excited while saying that “Umm, he already has one, thank you very much, and his name is James Buchanan Barnes. #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend.”
However, for Ren (@_lokiskywalker), Captain America may look at Iron Man as his real romantic partner.
In the meantime, Los Angeles Times reported that amid the campaign, Chris Evans has yet to comment and give his opinion about the whole thing.
It can be recalled that Idina Menzel, the actress behind the lovely voice of Queen Elsa in the highly-popular Disney film, already weighed in on the matter when she was interviewed by Entertainment Tonight at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday.
“I think it’s great,” the singer-actress said just before the campaign for Captain America to have a boyfriend started out. “Disney’s just gotta contend with that. I’ll let them figure that out.”
