“Captain America: Civil War” director Anthony Russo explained why the production decided to add a Giant Ant-Man in as one of the movie’s highlights.
As seen in the third Captain America movie, Ant-Man, played by Scott Lang, showed his prowess alongside Spider-Man. This was shown as Team Captain American and Team Iron Man battled it out in Leipzig/ Halle airport.
In one scene, Ant-Man went become a gigantic character after he ride an arrow to go to Iron Man’s suit and destroy it from within.
“Captain America: Civil War” director Anthony Russo said that his new power to be huge gave a large impact on the story.
“He’s just really impressed with Captain America,” Anthony Russo told about Ant-Man. “He just wants to deliver and he figures out a way to deliver where he might actually tear himself in half but he’s willing to do it and it works.”
Moreover, the fight scene of Team Captain America and Team Iron Man in the airport has involved an arduous process of editing.
“It required a lot of time in the editing room to make every character and their powers look as they should,” Screen Rant noted.
Another “Captain America: Civil War” director and Anthony’s brother Joe Russo revealed that the fight scene was filmed on a green screen in Atlanta.
Screen Rant noted that this Giant Ant-Man scene was one of the “greatest fight scenes” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is also considered as one of the highlights of “Captain America: Civil War.”
“Captain America: Civil War” is still showing in theaters now. Next movie to watch out for from Marvel is “Spider-man: Homecoming” on July 7, 2017. “Thor: Ragnarok” will be shown on November 3, 2017.
