“Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” campaign was released in the market on November 6. As expected, it has been subjected to rigorous testing standards. According to the analysis published by Digital Foundry, the latest campaign of the game seems to have some issues when it comes to the display quality.
The Call of Duty games have always followed the 60 fps rule to ensure the best precision of graphics in the games. However, the latest campaign does not actually adhere to that standard.
According to the report, the game struggles to reach 60 fps in both PS4 and Xbox One. On average, the PS4 edition of the game ran at 51 fps during the tests whereas the Xbox One version could not reach over 49. On the Sony PS4, there was around 15 percent dropped frame in the video output, which increased to around 18 percent in the Xbox One.
The cut scene rendering is optimal at 1080p and the HD quality is maintained in most part of the sequence. However, some texture blurring is visible at parts. However, the quality did not drop below 1080p in the PS4 version.
So, it seems both the platforms of the latest “Call of duty: Black Ops 3” campaign fail to achieve the standard set by its predecessors. The differences point to the fact that the campaign looks better on PS4 compared to the Xbox One.
One more thing to keep in mind is that the tests were performed on the Black Ops 3 campaign and not the multiplayer version, which is most popular among the fans.
