Lionsgate might have been too excited to celebrate the 100 days until “Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2” release in theaters that it failed to notice what a big embarrassment the poster was. The part 2 of the film is set for release on November 20.
The poster had the whole of Jennifer Lawrence’s face on it. Her face was smeared with blood in order to highlight the intensity of the film. However, the word “CUNT” was accidentally spelled, boldly, right at the center of JLaw’s face.
According to Variety, the poster was immediately removed from the film’s Twitter account after numerous netizens pointed the discomforting gaffe. Lionsgate has yet to return Variety’s request for comment.
Unfortunately, the poster was already retweeted by some netizens before Lionsgate could do damage control.

The poster gave “Mockingjay Part 2” bad publicity as compared to the release of the film’s official trailer in July. The trailer instantly aroused interest among fans. In fact, it has already been liked for more than 11 million times already on YouTube.
The trailer showed Katniss saying that there is “nothing good is safe while he’s alive. Snow has to pay for what he’s done.” This automatically sets the fans anticipation as it implied that Katniss will specifically be the one to kill Snow.
“Our lives were never ours. They belong to Snow and our deaths do too. But if you kill him Katniss, if you end this, all those deaths, they mean something,” Peeta was also shown saying in the trailer.
But the real excitement is whether Katniss will also be killing Coin. In the trailer, Katniss did a voice-over urging for the citizens to “turn their weapons to Snow.” However, it was an image of Coin which flashed on the screen.
