Nepal once again shook when it was hit by an earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake hit 68 km west of Namche Bazar, which is near Mount Everest.
The tremor was felt in Kathmandu and all over Nepal. The impact was also felt in Northern India and a vast portion of eastern India.
It was not a mere shiver that ran for 2 or 3 seconds; it continued for around 40 seconds, eliciting panic among people.
Somak Roychowdhury, who lives in Ballygunge, South Kolkata, told Morning News USA, “Suddenly a mild tremor continued for a few seconds. This much, as I am located in the periphery of the seismic zone.”
Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story stated that the earthquake measured 7.1 in the Richter Scale.
