Brandan Wright has agreed with the Memphis Grizzlies for a new 3-year contract worth nearly $18 million, according to Yahoo Sports. The Grizzlies used their full mid-level exception to sign the free agent forward.
At 6-foot-10, 205 pounds, Wright’s inclusion in the roster would give them another long athletic front-line weapon alongside Zach Randolph and Mike Gasol, the All-star center who’s likely to return. The 27 year-old is from Nashville, Tenn, and was an eighth overall pick of the 2007 NBA draft out of North Carolina. He has never been a consistent starter in the league. But the big man has produced healthy numbers in limited time, averaging 7.1 points, 1.0 blocks and 3.7 rebounds in 16.4 minutes for his career.
Wright had a busy last season, as his services were divided among the Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics and Phoenix Suns.
