If you still remember, there was a young boy by the name of Josh who would make a mad dash to a neighbor’s garage on his bike just to be able to give a dog a hug. Now, his mom believes he’s ready to have a pet of his own again and added a new pup to their family.
As Morning News USA had previously reported, young Josh got identified as the ‘hug thief’ when Hollie Breaux Mallet from Pierre Part, Louisiana took to her Facebook one day to ask help from neighbors to help identify the boy who would take the time to give her dog Dutchess a brief hug before taking off.
Today, Josh’s mom, Ginger Clement Breaux, is happy to announce that there finally is a new furry member in their family. After all, Ginger did say that they were going to get one at some point. Previously, they had a dog named Bella who had passed away last year.
Last September 16, Ginger surprised Josh and his sister Janie with little pup named Drake. Needless to say, it was love at first sight. “Josh was in total shock! And then embarrassed a little. Lol,” Ginger said in her Facebook update.
As for Drake, the adorable, young black Labrador looks to be enjoying Josh and his sister’s company already. Ginger says that her daughter couldn’t even believe that Drake was going to stay home with them now. She said, “Janie kept asking, ‘Is it really ours?'”
When Ginger first found out that Josh had been sneaking into their neighbor’s garage just to give Dutchess a hug, she was quite in a dilemma.
“Last night when I first saw it, I was torn as a momma being happy and upset because he knows he shouldn’t be on someone’s property, but I wake up this morning more happy that he just absolutely adores dogs so much,”
Well today, Josh now has two furry pals. Perhaps, he’s also already set up a play date between Dutchess and Drake?
