Bones, the long-running crime procedural drama series, will return for a twelfth and final season on FOX. The news was publicized by Dana Walden and Gary Newman of Fox Television Group.
The 12-episode run of Bones will bring the story of as Brennan and Booth to a close, allowing loyal fans of the TV to say farewell to the characters.
Hart Hanson, creator and executive producer of the TV series, stated, “In times like these, marked by instability and doubt, it’s comforting to know the world can count on at least one dependable beacon of stability. Apparently, that beacon is the TV series ‘Bones.’”
Hanson also said that the show displays what individuals can do with a mixture of a genius cast, astonishing crew, the craftiest writers, a stalwart studio and the most loyal viewers in the world.
David Boreanaz, who played Angel on the supernatural series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, said that the final season of Bones will provide a sense of closure for the long-running series. Boreanaz also said that the final season is for the fans of the show, and he would like to express his gratitude to Fox Network. Emily Deschanel said that she is thrilled that Bones will have the ending it deserves for its loyal audiences.
The final season of Bones is produced by 20th TV in association with Far Field Productions and Josephson Entertainment. The cast includes Tamara Taylor, Eric Millegan, Michaela Conlin, T. J. Thyne, Jonathan Adams and John Boyd.
Bones is slated to return with new episodes on Fox, Thursday, April 14, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
