Bollywood’s most eligible bachelor Shahid Kapoor, 34, got married to Mira Rajput, 21, in a private gathering held in Delhi on July 7. The wedding ceremony involved traditional rituals in Punjabi style and was attended only by close friends and family members of both bride and groom.
For quite some time, there was a buzz that Shahid is dating the young lady, but he was not confirming anything about the marriage when asked by reporters. Now putting an end to the rumors, he is the happily married husband of Mrs. Mira Rajput Kapoor.
Just after the marriage, Shahid Kapoor came hand-in-hand with his bride to introduce themselves to the media people waiting outside. There was a quick photoshoot and Shahid said, “Thank you”.
Shahid Kapoor donned an off-white sherwani designed by Kunal Rawal, and the bride was looking stunning in light-pink colored Anamika Khanna lahenga and veil with silver embroidery. She was all decked up in a Navratna neckpiece, Maang-tika, jhoomar and earrings set.
After the wedding, the newly-married couple headed for The Oberoi, Gurgaon. A reception party was hosted, and there were about 500-plus invitees. At the reception, Shahid appeared in black formal wear while Mira flaunted herself in an embellished couture.
In the venue Shahid’s dad, actor Pankaj Kapoor, and step-mom, actress Supriya Pathak, were spotted along with step-siblings Sanaah and Ruhaan. Reportedly around 50 rooms of the Trident Hotel have been booked, including the royal Presidential Suite.
An elaborated and grand Punjabi Sangeet was arranged Monday night, and the couple grooved to the beats of Shahid hits like “Mauja Hi Mauja,” “Saree Ke Fall Sa” and many more.
Currently Shahid Kapoor is undergoing a busy shooting schedule for “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa,” a dance show that is going to be judged by him. Therefore, Shahid could not find the time for a honeymoon now. On July 12, there was a luxurious reception party at Mumbai. From our part, we are wishing them everything that they need to make a happy and prosperous married life.
