Bobbi Kristina Brown has been laid to rest, and her private funeral at St. James United Methodist Church on Saturday was deemed “perfect,” according to Ellin LaVar, former hairstylist of the legend Whitney Houston.
Before Krissie’s coffin was lowered down, a video prepared by Tyler Perry was shown and reports say it helped maintained the peace during a family altercation. Perry impressively put together footage chronicling Bobbi’s life from as early as when Kristina was still a year old. According to LaVar as reported, the video was touching and emotional as it ended with Krissie bidding goodbye to the camera.
LaVar also disclosed that during Kristina’s funeral service, her casket — silver and decorated with pink roses — remained closed.
“The service was very low key and appropriate for her and her life,” LaVar said as quoted by E! Online. “It was beautiful,” she added.
Present during Kristina Brown’s funeral were her father Bobby Brown and her aunts Pat Houston, Tina Brown and Leolah Brown. Celebrities such as Tyler Perry also paid their last respects, together with Bobbi Kristina’s two best friends, Tina and Pat. Krissie’s middle school principal also attended.
There was also a solemn performance from Grammy-winning singers Cece Winans and Donnie McClurkin. McClurkin’s “Stand” was also sung during Whitney Houston’s funeral almost three years ago. Cissy Houston, Bobbi’s grandmother, also exerted efforts in paying tribute to her granddaughter.
