Blind Arya Stark Begins Daredevil Training In New ‘Game Of Thrones’ Clip

Game of Thrones has made one thing clear since the beginning: if you are a Stark, nothing will go your way. Unfortunately, Arya is no exception to this rule, as we last saw her lose her eyesight for disobeying the Faceless Men. reported that actress Maisie Williams made an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. She brought along with her a clip showing Arya’s fate after she was blinded in Season 5.

The 30-second clip shows Arya Stark, blind and helpless, begging on the streets of Braavos. She suddenly hears someone talk to her calling her “blind girl.” This is revealed to be Waif, who seems to be disdainful of her since they first met. She tosses her a staff and begins hitting her, forcing Arya to fight. Arya refuses the challenge, reasoning that she cannot see, to which Waif replies, “That is your problem, not mine.”

It seems Arya’s blindness is not a punishment after all, but her first step into becoming one of the Faceless Men. She arrived in Braavos to train with Jaqen H’ghar in the House of Black and White, when she saw Ser Meryn Trant, the man who killed her sword-fighting instructor. This prompted her to abandon the mission assigned to her by Jaqen and instead kill Ser Meryn. This resulted to her being blinded at the end of season 5.

According to Collider, Arya fighting Waif is an indication that she is being trained to be one of the Faceless Men. Nobody knows how the Faceless Men choose their members, but by the look of things, it is a brutal process. Arya Stark has been through a lot since her father’s death in King’s Landing, and it seems she will continue to suffer this upcoming season.
