Vintage Damian Lillard lifted the Portland Trail Blazers to an unexpected win against Oklahoma City Thunder. After a miserable first half, Lillard unleashed fire in the fourth quarter on Sunday night at Portland.
Lillard turned out be the match winner by posting 28 points in the second session after having a poor run in the first half. With 1:12 remaining in the final quarter, he posted a dagger and took the game away from the Thunder by drilling in 5 three-pointers in the last two minutes. Russel Westbrook could not stop him. Westbrook nearly had his fourth triple double of the season.
Lillard finally returned with 31 points. And he did more than mere scoring. Besides, he had nine assists and seven rebounds.
Portland trailed by seven points with 3:12 to go, when Lillard went off to a flier to outclass Oklahoma and notch up a sensational 115-110 win. He hit 5 threes. The Blazers tied at 110, and Lillard’s final three-pointer put them ahead to set up the win. He scored 17 points in the final quarter.
Kevin Durant led Thunder with 28 points. Westbrook added 25 points but Oklahoma were blown away by Lillard’s brilliance.
