Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are getting a divorce.
On Monday, the singers announced their divorce via the Associated Press. In a joint statement, they said, “This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”
According to E! Online, a source revealed why the former couple are seeking a divorce and what exactly caused them to bring the much publicized relationship to an end.
“Their busy schedules were a big issue for them,” the source said. “They both worked a lot and had to spend a lot of time apart. The less time they spent together, the more they grew apart.”

Since they have a prenuptial agreement, the financial settlements have been made between the two. As reported by TMZ, Shelton will acquire the ranch in Oklahoma and Lambert will get the family home in Nashville. Lambert has been reportedly seen moving her show animals from the ranch in the last few days.
While the coach of the NBC show “The Voice” has been rumored to have links with a few contestants from the show, a source said that Shelton has never cheated on Lambert.
“Blake is just that incredibly loyal and dedicated husband,” the source said. “I can guarantee you he has been faithful to that woman.”
“He hasn’t cheated ever,” the source added.
Shelton said in 2003 that he had given Lambert access to his electronics in case she needed reassurance of his faithfulness.
“[I tell Miranda], ‘I have nothing to hide from you,'” he had said at the time. “That’s always been our policy: ‘Here’s my phone. Go through it.’ That’s really the kind of trust we have. There are no secrets. [I’ll say], ‘Go dig through my drawers or my computer if you feel like you need to.’ And that’s been a really good thing, because I don’t want her to ever have any doubts.”
Meanwhile, another source said that Lambert is “doing the best she can at the moment and trying to process everything.”
“She is strong and will come out of this stronger,” the source added. “She is focusing on her music, family and friends.”
Shelton and Lambert got married in 2011 after a relationship of six years.
