What could be that something that Blake Shelton lied about Gwen Stefani? Did he really lie?
In an interview in August with People, the 39-year-old country music superstar said that he never saw himself “sitting down and writing songs” with his 46-year-old girlfriend and fellow “The Voice” coach and judge.
However, this is no longer the case right now since his upcoming album will be featuring a duet by them.
While he admitted that he was only hesitant then to talk about future collaborations with the former No Doubt lead singer, the “Bringing Back the Sunshine” artist also shared that their new song “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” will be released on May 20 under his new album “If I’m Honest.”
“We were at a point where it’s like, ‘Do we want to go there? What will people think?’” Blake Shelton narrated at the event of the singing reality show on Thursday. “And then we finally just got to the point where it’s like, ‘You know what? I don’t give a sh**.”
Apart from giving their fans something to look forward to from the two of them, it is also worth noting that the upcoming track was not only written by the ex-husband of Miranda Lambert, but by the “Don’t Speak” singer as well, which they did together in October.
In the meantime, Blake Shelton dished to Entertainment Tonight how a tweet of Gwen Stefani about the album came about.
“We finally got a mock-up of the album, what the artwork was going to look like,” he stated. “And we flip it over and it has all the songs. I said, ‘You know what? Take a picture of that and tweet it.”
Blake Shelton continued by saying, “[The song] is very personal for us both because, you know, we obviously have this bond that is remarkable together.”
